Great Lakes International Airshow - St. Thomas, ON
Repost from the Aerobatics and Airshows Forum:
For those of you in Southwestern Ontario June 24-26 2011, be sure to check out the Great Lakes International Airshow (Formerly Wings N' Wheels). If you've been to the St. Thomas show before, you know how good it is. More details to be released in the coming weeks with additional flying, static and ground acts!

Hmmm.. I've tried the link on two separate computers and it seems to work fine. You can always just google 'Great Lakes International Airshow' and that will do the trick as well.Moose47 wrote:Bad link Chippie!
As well, this was just posted by the airshow Executive director on the SWOAB board:

"I spoke with my web guys today and they said it would take a day or two for the site to propagate through all the servers before everyone would have access.
Please keep trying and post confirmation when you have success."
Keep checking back as it's a great looking website and promises to be another great show!

G'day again.
I just answered my own question. So your dad is Hugh. I hope to get an autographed copy of his book.
I lived at R.C.A.F. Station Centralia as an 'airforce brat' and remember the Chipmunks when they replaced the Harvards in 1956. My father worked on them until transferred to B-25's at R.C.A.F. Station Saskatoon in 1957.
Cheers...Chris

His was stationed in Centralia to do the NATO Flyer Refresher Program around that time, so you might have seen it overhead! There's actually a picture of his a/c from Centralia 1955 on the sample download page of the book's website.

I don't know if the order form has a place for special requests, but there is a contact section where you could ask for it to be personalized if you do choose to get a book.

Hi DHC-1
I use to work on CF-CYE when she had her annuals done at Burlington back in the 80's. Had a Golden Hawks paint scheme then. One year I recovered all the control surfaces on her. She is a great airplane
Say hi to your Dad for me. My aircraft is a 1940 Fleet 16b based at Guelph
My Fleet and the Tigerboys Fleet do dual routines together at airshows.

We've probably met then, Fleet. I've been out to see the Tiger Boys shop on more than one occasion and have seen the fleet at a number of airshows. It's a really neat set up they've got there in Guelph. CYE was actually bought off a YYZ Controller who had it based in Guelph and it was still in the Golden Hawks scheme and looked quite tired. After a complete rebuild, and being back in the classic yellow, it looks better than ever!
