EnerJet finished ??

Post by pt6_driver »

Well it has been a week or more and a good rumor has been going around YYC that Enerjet has no planes after March 31,2011. Back to the Owner in Europe.

Wonder what is going to happen with them then? I guess They will be closing the doors with no aircraft on their O/C.

Any news?

I heard they had the Liberal contract for haul Iggy around if there was an election, that would be pretty dam funny if they went under and Iggy was left without a ride. Not so funny for the Enerjet folks, but you guys know what I mean.

Didn't realize a Boeing 737 could be used as a manure spreader.

What you do is install a 2000 gallon fire retardant tank. Get your manure in semi liquid form, wait for a suitable target, then hit the dump switch.

If this rumor is true, it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the planning ability of the Liberals.

Um, it took that for you to see such a thing about politicians? Why would they worry about planning things that won't help build their personal shipping empire? Just so you don't think I'm somekind of blue party goof, yes I remember Brian "Gimme your wallets" Mulroney.

hey weren't they looking for f/o 'n capt in feb 2011 on the pcc site

hmmm do ya smell another jetgo go to work happy only to arrive to find the doors bolted shut.. hope not for all but i would take the cash payment vs check until this rumour is put to rest. involved

didn't clive bedoe say in a n interview a couple of years ago. That to do what west jet did in '96 , now in todays market situation would be virtually impossible. as the combination of timing with a cost structure advantage and low price of fuel back .58 c liter jet a1 then created the optiminal conditions for wj sucess combined with their service first attitude.

They have a piper PA-30 (C-FCCM) registered under the company name 1263343 Alberta Inc. and Trade name Enerjet.

Maybe thats what they are going to be using to fly the Liberal party around.

After about a dozen beers I was able to find out that Flair Airline was subcontracted by Enerjet to fly the next former leader of the liberal party around for a few weeks in april.

The leased B737 was a short term lease - so it was due to be returned in May when the
lease started.

The Future??? They have been advertising for B767/B737NG crews - still currently listed as
vacant positions on their website??

http://www.enerjet.ca/jobPostingViewDetails.php?id=52

Just a note; Enerjets CEO Tim Morgan is also the CEO/Founder of Air Partners, - who
currently operate an Aero Commander, a King Air 200, a Beech Premier Jet, 4 Citation 560,
1 Citation XL, 1 Citation X, and a Challenger.

He is also one of four founders of Westjet.

Interesting, there has been a Flair Air 737 parked over by UPS/FedEx/Purolator at YYC the last week or so.

Its not there today, I heard it going to YLW perhaps for a quick seat change and some decals slapped on it.

KFC has always been a big supporter of the Liberals (both provincial and federal). I got my foot smashed once by a tow bar on Gordon Campbell's Convair; I've hated the Liberals ever since...

Heard that Flair laid off a bunch of pilots recently and have no work so maybe they'll be the next to go, though as KFC with the name changed who knows.

Looks like the many beer weren't required...Enerjet had the contract, will have no plane for a few days, so they've subcontracted to Flair who will provide a B734 for an undetermined amount of time:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/pol ... le1958366/

Also states that Enerjet will be getting a replacement B73G when the B738 goes back to Europe.

Michael Ignatieff’s Liberal campaign is hitting turbulence, with the party unexpectedly ending up with an older, subcontracted plane.

The Liberals originally expected Calgary-based Enerjet, headed by WestJet Airlines Ltd. co-founder Tim Morgan, to supply a newer model Boeing 737.

But Enerjet's spiffy Boeing 737-800 needs to be returned to its lessor at the end of March, so that has forced a change in plans.

Enerjet has scrambled to subcontract Kelowna-based Flair Airlines to fly an older-model Boeing 737-400 for the Liberals, starting Sunday night, an industry insider familiar with aircraft leases said in an interview.

The Flair plane is a step up from Stephane Dion’s gas guzzling Boeing 737-200, supplied by Air Inuit, in 2008.

“The plane will be unveiled for our maiden flight [Sunday] out of Montreal,” a senior Ignatieff official told the Globe’s Jane Taber.

Enerjet is slated to take delivery of a Boeing 737-700 on April 4, too late for the start of Liberal electioneering.

In contrast to Flair, WestJet has a fleet of newer Boeing 737-600, 700 and 800 Next Generation models.

No decision has been made yet on whether to stick with the Flair plane, or switch to Enerjet’s Boeing 737-700 midway through the Liberal campaign.

Sorry Threadjack

Does anybody else find it funny that the "leader" of the Liberal party is contracting a western company, with the name of "Ener"jet? This just seems like a huge oxymoron to me.

What makes it even better the founder was also one of the main men behind Westjet, the dreaded airline from the redneck west coming to the east to displace the "National" Airline. I can't remember but weren't the Liberals also the party in charge when AC was "bailed out"?
