AT interview questions

Post by Chris Smith »

Does anyone know what type of questions are asked during a one on one interview with AT?

Think standard Airline Interview questions.

And show some interest in trying to be bilingual.

Do they want you to use proper french or quebecois french?

For instance, if they ask me if I can start in April. Do I say "oui" or "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Pick "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH".

It still amazes me that a number of posters on here haven't realized that Québécois French is to France French what Canadian English is to British English.
A number of differences in both vocabulary and pronunciation, but nothing much worse than that.

Other than STOLSkunkworks, does anyone have anything relevant to add to the OP's questions? (I don't unfortunately.)

They'll ask you about your career to date, what you know about the company, maybe how you feel about living in Toronto. The big question is asked in different ways to different people. I was asked "if there was a bag found on the aircraft after landing in Paris and the FA's wanted to call the police and the captain just wanted to get going on the turn what do you do?" Or you'll get the captain drinking 8 hours before a flight, etc.... Of course you put your foot down after exhausting all other diplomatic options. Once you get through the interview you'll go meet the VP and he'll decide if you go on to the sim. He just asked me about my career again. Sim was a bit tough in the 310. Take off with autothrust then they turn it off and you have to turn, level off and keep the speed to 250. Usually this is easy of course, but the first time on an airliner is a handful. Steep turns are next then you get the auto pilot back and it's like a ride without any failures. Good luck!

I think MAG1 gave a very accurate overview of the hiring process without saying too much. Be yourself and revise the NDB theory.

I was told that the sim eval is not really about how well you can fly the sim, but more about your CRM and situational awareness.
