Health check on the industry.
Hi, just wondering how pilots are managing these days? When I left flying things were at a standstill. I've been out for several years. Entertaining the idea of going back, but am interested in knowing how the job market is these days. What's the movement like through the flight schools, commuters, and into the airlines.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Basically, you just crashed into the ER room to ask flatlined Grandpa Waldo if he's coming to your birthday party.
If you have a good job right now, stay put, save some money, get yourself an aircraft / fractional share, fly for pure enjoyment whenever you can. It's not a pretty time to be looking for a low-time job in this industry.

I started flying 10 years ago and have yet to see it this good. Lots of movement in the last 12 months, and I'm thinking it will keep up for a bit longer, then there will be another 5-6 years of treading water.global35 wrote:Hi, just wondering how pilots are managing these days? I have about 2500 hrs, but it's all right seat on a twin turbo prop, no PIC time.

You think this is more than 2006-2008? Not a chance. It was insane then. Right now, for the most part, it's just the bottom feeders to mid level that are hiring. Hiring's still veryslow in the high quality jobs compared to then.justwork wrote: I started flying 10 years ago and have yet to see it this good.
