1. A C130 in the US had the wings come off a few years back, and the resultant investigation determined that some planes could not withstand the rigors of water bombing and used planes would further aggravate that issue as they were worn out a bit.

True, but it goes a little deeper than that.
The 130 was and "A" series manufactured in 1956 was pulled out of a military bone yard after they'd worn it out, sold for $1.00 and had a tank system installed.
Years of competition in the bid process that took advantage of the fact the entire US aerial fire fighting fleet is privately owned drove most companies bankrupt or to the brink of bankruptcy. Something had to give and 3 guesses what that was.

It's the written form of the sound I would make if we were talking about this and someone said, "Well, pretty much forever, given that there are no longer any airframes in flying condition." to try to convince me there isn't someone out there that would try to fly one or more of the existing Concordes.

I'm going to have to go all Hedley here and be cold I guess. My intention is not to be jaded toward the accident that took those lives. I'm sorry if you thought I am not showing the proper outrage regarding people being harmed.

I'm jaded toward anyone who thinks that the exact same thing could or would not happen with a Concorde just because it may actually not be airworthy. There's far too many people that would try to fly it if you could get it to start up and rolling. Fear and sense don't stop people from flying then selling planes that shouldn't fly.

No I don't like it when innocent people die. I don't like it when it's in an aircraft that should not have been flying. I think the morons that made that happen should probably be imprisoned or perhaps put to death for the murder of the three innocent people on board that C-130.

I was just so shocked that anyone would think those peace loving Isrealites would turn a machine designed to save lives and property into a fighting aircraft...Unbelievable.

As to the interest after 9-11. I think that had much to do with a bit of overactive paranoia..not that anyone in the USI would ever overreact.

Meh, I just know I'm in that sort of a "he who's name..." mood where I'll post something that makes it seem I have no feelings for someone that was killed in the crash of a plane that shouldn't have been flying.
