(CNN) -- Saber-rattling al Qaeda warnings against the United States emerged Friday as Osama bin Laden's killing yielded a trove of ominous intelligence, including details about a possible attack on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
Al Qaeda, the bin Laden terror network that masterminded the deadly attack on the U.S. 10 years ago, confirmed its leader's death on Friday in a Web statement, using that opportunity to taunt and threaten the United States.
"Sheikh Osama didn't build an organization that will vanish with his death or fades away with his departure," according to the statement, which CNN could not independently authenticate.
The statement, which congratulates the "Islamic Nation on the martyrdom of their devoted son Osama," repeated themes and threats made over the years in al Qaeda statements, before and after the September 11, 2001, attacks.
"The blood of the mujahed sheikh, Osama bin Laden, may God have mercy on him, is very dear to us and more precious to us and to every Muslim from being shed in vain," the statement said. A mujahed is defined as a Muslim engaged in what he considers to be jihad.

Actually my memory goes back further than 2011. Bin Laden was your guy not ours. Yemen was the first Arab country to expel him, in 1989, followed by Saudi Arabia the following year. He then had his citizen stripped and was disowned by his family. He used his millions to buy some influence and a place under the sun in Sudan. Until they kicked him out. He went back to Afghanistan in 1996 when n oter Arab country would take him because they were obliged to have him after he served there for ten years. The first international arrest warrant was issued for him that year -by Libya. All the while he was the darling of the west. As far as most Arabs are concerned the whole Bin Laden/Bush thing is a internal squabble that has nothing to do with them. The CIA created that monster, but as usual they didnt bother to read Frankenstein to the end.

(Reuters) - A stash of pornography was found in the hideout of Osama bin Laden by the U.S. commandos who killed him, current and former U.S. officials said on Friday.
The pornography recovered in bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The officials said they were not yet sure precisely where in the compound the pornography was discovered or who had been viewing it. Specifically, the officials said they did not know if bin Laden himself had acquired or viewed the materials.
Reports from Abbottabad have said that bin Laden's compound was cut off from the Internet or other hard-wired communications networks. It is unclear how compound residents would have acquired the pornography.
But a video released by the Obama administration confiscated from the compound showed bin Laden watching pictures of himself on a TV screen, indicating that the compound was equipped with video playback equipment.
Materials carted away from the compound by the U.S. commandos included digital thumb drives, which U.S. officials believe may have been a principal means by which couriers carried electronic messages to and from the late al Qaeda leader.
Three other U.S. officials familiar with evidence gathered during investigations of other Islamic militants said the discovery of pornography is not uncommon in such cases.
Well, let us start with the beginning. Porn is common here in Islamic countries. More so than in other places, because of the high censure level. We all know that.
Second, by making statements about OBL having porn home, our guys in the WH think that this will create a backlash against the AQ by the Talibs.

It would be a mistake ,not to do to that compound where UBL lived in Pakistan for years ,same same: what the Germans did to Spandau where Hess lived for years. Normally I eschew those sort of non-natural items in a tank, thinking of them as appealing only to those of child-like intellect ... .... which means I'll be rushing out to buy one right away!
Further, I'm especially interested in doing a historical diorama of Ted Kennedy's defining moment in history ... replete with a genuine timber bridge done in HO scale ... there are many model train trestles that could easily be adapted.

This is just the sort of thing that will just extend the cycle of violence. A community center and an elementary school should be named after Osama to appease the anger of this community. Maybe a subway station, or a bank tower?
Yes Jake .... you're onto something with the bank tower .... that would sure show the world we men no har to them .... think of the significance .... the dreaded concept of capitalism having a heart and honoring Osama Bin Laden's efforts to make the world a far happier place for people who turn history back to the 1400's. We should also have a "Whipping Area" where mn could bring their wives and arranged fiances and give them a taste of the lash for wearing pants.
Then there's always the popular "Heads and Hands Days" that could be accomplished between stock trading sessions at the TSE and VSE ... great idea Jake .... "Make it so."
