In 2005, Mr. Mulcair blamed his "Irish temper" for an outburst that led former Parti Québécois minister Yves Duhaime to successfully sue him for $95,000 in damages. Mr. Mulcair had called Mr. Duhaime "a Péquiste slut" whom he could not wait to see in jail.

That individual is the youngest person ever elected to the House. He's 19, and a 1st year Poli Sci student.I'm wondering what riding the guy in the top right lives in if he had the same tactics.

Re: Jack Layton’s Federal Erection issue!!!
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/ ... ments.htmlThe NDP's Quebec lieutenant landed in hot water Wednesday when he told CBC's Power & Politics with Evan Solomon that he didn't believe photos exist of bin Laden following the al-Qaeda leader's killing by U.S. forces on Sunday in Pakistan.
"I don't think, from what I've heard, that those pictures exist and if they do, I'll leave that up to the American military," he told Solomon Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, Mulcair acknowledged that it was not "the best statement [he] could have made."
NDP MP Thomas Mulcair said Thursday his comments on CBC's Power & Politics with Evan Solomon the previous day were taken out of context. Graham Hughes/Canadian PressMulcair said the context of the conversation had been lost, and that he was referring to whether a photo of bin Laden reaching for his gun exists or not.
"I take full responsibility for the meandering nature of that back and forth," Mulcair said on air Thursday morning.
"I'll put that on the account of a certain fatigue and our joy at our victory the other night," Mulcair added, in reference to his party's second-place showing in the election.
Chump's first act in Her Majesty's loyal opposition is to slur our southern neighbours in their great moment of triumph, then follows it up by calling a second-place win "victory".
Re: Jack Layton’s Federal Erection issue!!!
In his defence on the second point, most people would call getting nearly twice as many seats as you've ever gotten before a form of victory. I don't know how drunk you have to be to @#$! up like he did on the first point, though.
no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.

So assuming she only had the 100 required signatures, they're alleging she only had 10 people OK her candidacy? Similar challenges have been made against some of the other candidates, too.New Democrat MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau’s surprise victory in Berthier-Maskinongé is being challenged by the defeated Liberal candidate, who unveiled new allegations of irregularities Friday.
Francine Gaudet said a formal complaint has been made with Elections Canada by a voter in the riding alleging there are at least 90 invalid signatures on the elected NDP candidate's nomination papers.

More than just that. Under current rules Parties still get $2 per vote they get. They put these people there simply so that they could take more of your tax money for themselves.North Shore wrote:^And how is any of the above the fault of the people running? I'm sure that their parties simply put them in their ridings to 'wave the flag' so that the parties could claim to be running a candidate in each riding.
