the coolest thing you saw today
despite all the negative aspects of this line of work there are still times in every flight that make me appreciate the unique vantage point that we enjoy. what are some cool sights that you've been lucky enough to come across randomly?
recently:
- getting an approach vector that lined us up for a perfect deflection shot on a flight of two f-16s passing a couple of miles ahead off our nose
- passing overhead a loose three ship formation of b-52's
- landing at lake tahoe- very similar to the approach into aspen (one way in, one way out, terrain on three sides) only over a pristine lake instead of down a valley
- also, don't know why but i never get tired of flashing the recogs at opposite direction traffic at night

Re: the coolest thing you saw today
I was though YYZ Thursday and again Sunday.
It was like 70's retro day. Why, I dunno, but I saw 4 AC captains from the narrow body side of things walking through with their hats hanging from the handles of their Rollie bags, sporting mullets that would have been perfect for going to a Stampeders concert in Regina in '75!

Me whizzing through the tops of an AC layer with blue sky above and rain below.

The best one I saw today was the guy who was changing the gas price sign and his ladder fell over in the wind and he was stranded 20 feet off of the ground. It was pouring rain here in Moncton. Everyone who saw it were laughing so hard it was worth the 1.39 a litre we had to pay.

Re: the coolest thing you saw today
The cook called me early morning to say that in the bazar, they had received frozen fish from Kabul. I told him to buy the box, 20 kgs.
Three hours later, I went to the kitchen, opened the freezer, and found 20 kgs of still thawed white fish. We had a great fish dinner...

Success in life is when the cognac that you drink is older than the women you drink it with.

Which is this guy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Saint-Jacques ) in my front seat, with this guy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Hansen ) in another Pitts on right wing.

Some guy in a nice suit, cell phone in case, walk out of Canadian tire, light up a smoke, decides to have a seat on the ass end of a display trailer they have in the front only to have the front end come up, he practically rolled off of it, i think he may have had a few rolls on the sidewalk as well.
I was driving by, My wife got mad at me for not stopping and helping or seeing if he was ok
