I've heard it said that we humans should be forcibly contracepted at birth, and only allowed to have kids once we have proven that we are capable of adequately caring for them..

Apparently his lawyer is considering an insanity defence, which seems appropriate. Get the kid into a decent home, and get him about 10 years worth of counseling.
