Re: How long do you give 'em?
Could be a challenge for the Jetstream 31 to meet the climb performance out of Cranbrook. Air BC got stuck there many a time with the ol 31.
I hope they make a go at it however a more powerful aircraft may be needed.

There is no way I would let my family on that aircraft out of those hills. I'm surprised it's legal or are they going to run it 9 seat and 703?

I guess they forgot about Quickair and their attempts with Penticton CYYF a few years back...

What type would work best in the rocks? 1900's are traditionally overpowered but also gas guzzlers what A/C gives the best balance?
Re: How long do you give 'em?
I guess they have to find something to do with the 31s left over from East Coast Airways. I give this venture about the same amount of time as their previous one.
Re: How long do you give 'em?
The 32 might do better. Plus it is a FAR 23 aircraft.fish4life wrote:What type would work best in the rocks? 1900's are traditionally overpowered but also gas guzzlers what A/C gives the best balance?

Apparently they took over the failing Bar XH Air last year so it would probably be the disused BAR XH Air Jetstreams.

it is easy enought to get the B1900 fuel flows down, climb up above 230 you are burning 300/side but you are going 260 vs 230, and you are carrying a full load, not so much with either the j31/32

I thought this was more for crew changes than tourists.
As long as oil is booming and forestry is busting they should have more than enough rednecks to transport.

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

Sorry Chief I was just relaying what the article had said, dont know much about the Oil Sands Work.
"It's long been known that Alberta north - in particular Edmonton - as a direct non-stop service is pretty critical, for the tourism stakeholders particularly.
Im sure the summer will be busy for them then as the price of Oil is up and they have a stellar track record.
