I have older gentlemen say it to me on a regular basis. "I always wanted to do that" I always ask "What's stopping you" The answer is always I am too old now.fleet16b wrote:The coolest thing for me is too watch my airplane transform old men into teenage boys.
Every once in a while I am lucky enough to meet wartime pilots that just happen to have learned to fly on the Fleet Finch ( in two cases soloed on my actual aircraft)
I watch the truly remarkable transformation that takes place as they change from hunched over shuffling old men. They actually start standing straight, become energetic, smile and joke around as they once again become young men that flew. They seem truly happy to be back in the world of airplanes and pilots. They are the reason I wanted to fly and the reason I keep their memories alive.
Not many of them are left now
I am going to miss that when they are all gone
