Furloughed pilots being recalled

Post by Rebel »

Air Canada News:

Furloughed pilots being recalled. With the summer schedule ramping up, and to meet its requirements, we’re now in the process of recalling 171 furloughed Air Canada pilots – in fact, letters of recall were issued last week to 57 pilots. We anticipate they will return to service over the coming months

Will AC be able to get all the recalled pilots trained before the summer schedule hits?

Hmm good question but you know how this industry works. The bean counters make a decision today and expect the pilots to be immediately trained and ready for duty yesterday. Some things never change..

That's true. But in any case, it's good to hear some positive news for a change. I actually thought that Jazz would start recalling before the mainline.

As of today's date, 22 of our furloughed pilots have returned to work with 14 of a planned 20 confirmed to return in May.

Some will stay on their contracts overseas for the full three years as well.

Not sure if thrust-set is with mainline or Jazz, but to clarify, Jazz has already recalled, some are online with more to come in the following months.
