Airports in tsunami affected areas?

I don't exactly know if this question fits in the airline general category, however a co-worker and I were discussing what happens to jetliners that are based out of airports that are regularly affected by tsunami/hurricane/tropical storms? Are they all hangared or flown out?

In the case of a tsunami, I think that since there would only be minutes or an hour or two at best warning, the planes get wet. However, stuff with long legs, like the 57 and up would get their feet a bit wet and the narrowbodies would float away with the tide!

That makes sense for the tsunami, but what about hurricane winds and hail?

It's very common for airlines to have contingency plans for weather. Most would not leave an aircraft at an airport even in a hangar if a hurricane is coming. It will be flown out of range of the storm.

Tsunami you're wet. No way to predict or get airborne in time.
