Red Pass FYI
Just wanted to give a heads up, I applied for a red pass renewal about 2.5 - 3 weeks ago, and it's already ready for pickup in YYC.
I submitted the long form that stated I had lived outside Canada in the past 5 years. I'm pretty surprised it was processed that quick.
Thought this might be helpful to know if you need to get a new pass soon, it's a lot faster than it used to be.
Cheers

Re: Red Pass FYI
YYZ is a whole different story. It's pretty much why I use a YUL RAIC instead. Much less painful to apply and receive a YUL RAIC then a YYZ one.

Re: Red Pass FYI
There is a reason I waited to renew my pass that was coming up in YYZ, until now when I got YYC base.
Already the proccess is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.

I guess you did not read the conditions of the RAIC while you waited 2-3 hours to summit the application
Re: Red Pass FYI
Can't use it "off duty". However, I typically carry it in my pocket when I travel and just prior to going through security I take it out of my pocket and place it in the items bin nice and carefully so it is nicely displayed to the security personnel. Kind of a round about way of using it while saying "no need to pat me down".
Re: Red Pass FYI
The flightcrew RAIC can be used to go through the "Trusted Traveller" line at security in Canada. For any business or personal travel. Note that only the RAIC holder can do this, if your travelling with anyone else they cannot go through with you.BEFAN5 wrote:Can't use it "off duty". Re: Red Pass FYI
I had heard that, but have never do so as the line ups have never been big enough for me to really care.... For my information, is that in writing anywhere? On the "Trusted Traveler" webpage on CATSA, it only makes reference to NEXUS holders.whiteguy wrote:The flightcrew RAIC can be used to go through the "Trusted Traveller" line at security in Canada. Not sure where it is in writing. I was told by others in the company and have used it a couple times.BEFAN5 wrote:I had heard that, but have never do so as the line ups have never been big enough for me to really care.... Re: Red Pass FYI
I've done that numerous times.
The beauty of this line is also that you don't have to step on the stupid arrow randomizer for the full pat down/bag search. You go straight to the shortest line.
I actually show them my raic every time I travel now.
