Yeah, you're right. Must be the 25th. Keep your shirt on.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
One month since the "viewing". No letter nor phone call, has anyone had to call them to see if they passed the first round? Did I blow it that bad that they won't send a PFO?

Just relax. 30 days is a drop in the bucket. It took them 4 months to let me know.

6 months for me ending with a no. I knew I should have just been honest about my wanting to become a florist...don't hide who you are kids.

It was a bit nerve racking but in the end it was good news.Cubester wrote:bcflyer wrote:Just relax. 30 days is a drop in the bucket. It took them 4 months to let me know.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
I got the call today, starting July 25. Took 1 month after initial interview for final answer, or 3 weeks after medical to hear a yes. Wish everyone best of luck and looking forward to joining the team.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
So for those of you that were called for July 25th, do you know at this point where AC will put you? ie F/O or RP? I was told it's basically the luck of the draw and based on nothing else?
Re: Air Canada Interviews
You won't know what position you are getting until after your PIT course. You will draw straws for your seniority number, they will tell you what is available and you bid on what you want. (provided there are choices. Some G/S are all on postion. ie all EMB F/O etc)
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Some questions for the recently hired.
Are medicals completed in YYZ only or can one be done in another city where they have a base?
Do new hires currently have travel benefits from the start or only after six months?
Have there been any bases offered to new hires outside of YYZ? Which ones if so?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Brize,
-Medicals can be completed at YVR, YUL, YYZ and YWG
-Have travel benefits almost from day 1 (have to process your name into the system)
-So far, only YYZ based positions. However, last batch had people transfer to YVR within one equipment bid. YUL has seen very little junior movement.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Last training plan showed 4, maybe 8 767 RP YYZ and 12-16 EMJ FO YYZ I think. So expect that for July g/s. a/c courses started on the 8th of August.
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Assuming the ground school is full already for the 25th ? 2 week mark is on Monday......
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Some great info being shared by all. Thanks. This thread is amazing therapy for those in the waiting.
Anyone get the call this week to schedule a medical? It's been pretty quiet here lately. I know of interviews being conducted all this week. I wonder when the hiring committee meets next.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
The next aircraft courses are 22nd Aug (8 slots), and 05 Sep (6 slots). Therefore I bet there will be one or two PIT courses starting between the 8th and 22nd of Aug. Unless there are 26 people showing up next Monday .
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Quite possible...latest rumour I've heard is 1 course of 24 new hires a month until December and then 16 a month until June!snag wrote:Unless there are 26 people showing up next Monday .

I am in the same boat Homer, except I got my PFO in 2008. It's been a long wait. I update my profile on a regular basis and just keep my fingers crossed they they will call me in again someday.
