Flight Dispatcher
FDMET and FDOPS are both free exams.
Are there any benefits in getting a flight dispatchers certificate?

Re: Flight Dispatcher
You need to pass both exams in order to work for Type A or B airlines.
As for the certificate, you will get it once you are done with 'on the job' training if you are not too bad

Re: Flight Dispatcher
Since they are free, it would be an excellent chance to review questions that should have some relation to the ATPLs, given that the authority to dispatch a 705 aircraft flying requires an ATPL level academic knowledge.
The work application is simple for lower time pilots:
If seeking work has not been a tremendously successful thing so far, possession of the writtens might grant an entree into a company that might not otherwise have written back, without further cash.
