For somebody coming from king air land or the north, I can see Jazz as a good place to go, but then again, you would probably take a paycut from your current gig, and end up in the right seat forever.....what sorts of advantages are there then to actually go and work at Jazz, cause it sure can't be the money.... Not a company slam, just looking for some input :)

Hiring has been pushed back a few months (early fall 2005) due to slow aircraft deliveries, but it will happen..

Depends what your doing. If you're at Westjet, Canjet, Air Transat, Skyservice, Cathay Pacific or any other airline flying large jets, I would consider Jazz to be a bad career move.

If you are flying some sort of twin turboprop though, maybe even a light corporate jet, it is something worth considering. FO CRJ positions have recently been awarded to relatively junior pilots, so the type of flying, SOP's and equipment is good for career building. The benefits that Jaques Strappe identified are also somewhat attractive, but I agree that the salary level somewhat keeps you from enjoying these things particularly if you have financial obligations. Free travel?!?!? Yeah, great, but the major cost of travel these days is once you leave the airport at destination not the airline ticket. Schedule, though, is one of the better ones in Canadian airline companies.

Overall, Jazz is just one more half-decent airline-type company in Canada. Not the first, not the best, but an option none-the-less.

HUm, not sure about that,

Go to europe last minute or Australia... you'll see how much the ticket cost.
As a matter of fact Air Canada (JAZZ....) as one of the best travel benefit in the world.(Compare to most Airlines...like Cathay/SVC/transat...)

Average ticket to Europe $80, Australia for $ 200 , and 50% of it is taxes.
Anyways, the travel benefit are great you can book yourself on a flight just a few hours before it leaves, you can book 10 tickets... and don
't get charged for it unless, you make the flight...

Nevertheless, loads have been great on Air Canada.. So it becomes harder to travel, unless you have patience and time to sit.
Other than that, Jazz would be a great job.
I don;t work there but does similar type of work. You can be home most days.
The only draw back is the starting pay and time for an upgrade.

I believe Aircraft deliveries have been pushed so did the interviews.
or May be there are waiting to see how many goes to the main line??
