A friend of mine came across this plane the other day.
Call me crazy, but I want it!
Simply the most awesome homebuild I ever saw.
Spotted in Stratford.

I want one too, but...
C-GFES does not come up on the on-line Canadian Civil Aircraft Register. Why?

That beast would make quite a sound if there were four VW engines hiding under those cowls.

This plane has been issued its marks but it has not yet had its final inspection, therefore it has no fliight authority and is not on the database.

Gary, I really hope that you are planning to write an article about this homebuilt, in the Recreational Flyer magazine

Great idea!
Then the thing could loiter overhead a nice big Prairie gopher field and with maybe twenty .22 semi-autos (modified for belt feed and full auto) that field coul be chewed up pretty good.

Now there would be an economical aircraft to operate in commercial service .... not.
The market study which confirmed this had a viable sales lineup must have cooked the question responses.

Probably the same guy who sold the 146 and the Dash 7.
Perhaps the engine out procedure is the same for the Champion Lancer (Google it, but Champ fans be warned... it isn't pretty). In the event of engine failure, shut down the remaining engine.

He: I DON'T DRINK AND I'M FRIGGIN' BORED!
She: Fine, but stop bugging me around the house. Isn't there somewhere you can go and be sober where you can kill time other than at home?
He: Yeah. The airport! And while I'm there, I might as well build a plane!
She: FINE!
He: FINE!
3 years later....
He: Wanna go flying in my new plane, honey?
She: No.
He: YIPPIE!!!!

It is Transall C-160 not Transal C-146.
I had a wild low-level trip on one with the Luftwaffe up at Goose Bay a few years ago.
Cheers...Chris

Hmmm, well of course the only time you really would miss it is if you have two engines out on the same side.......
