I did that in Turbo Beaver once. It was powered by a -27 was on straight wheels with only 1/2 a centre tank of fuel. I don't think I used the full 200 feet. :D

Gravel logging road...more than enough length for a Supercub but only about 10' wide with ditches on each side. Makes you hold the centreline real well!!!

I remember flying into and out of Bremner. It was a small wet grass strip on the east side of Edmonton. It sure seemed small don't remember the stats but in a 150 with a instructor (Mark Barlow-Morningstar Captain now) there was not alot of room. That was 15 years ago don't know if its even still there.

I think that is how it is spelled.....

Wide spot in a logging road at the north end of Harrison Lake in the lower mainland.

Not terrably short but the dog leg approach over the barn and past the trees can add some fun.

A few weeks after I was there our CFI blew a cylander on take off in a Warrior. Was damn good piloting to get it back on the ground in one peace!

The shortest and narrowest landing strip that I have operated on and off of was eight feet by eight feet, it was a landing pad on tracks so I could winch my helicopter into the hangar every night.

Hows this for Narrow?

Image

Every pilot learns to perform short-field landings. Indeed, we take pride in demonstrating the skill with which we extract maximum performance from our aircraft.

But a ‘narrow field’ landing? Who ever heard of that? And in a Boeing 747? There’s something you don’t see every day.

Yet that was the task facing the flight crew of this South African Airways 747-200 when they delivered it to the SAA Museum at Rand Airport in South Africa.

The runway at Rand is only 50 feet wide, and the 747 has an outer-to-outer main gear tire width of 41.33 ft. That gave the pilot just four feet of room on either side! Combine this with a Vref landing speed of 115 knots, a comparatively short runway distance of 4898 feet, and you have the making of an e-ticket ride.

Saw those pics on another thread awhile back. Pretty impressive. CAJ7's (Cayley, AB) runway is 4500' long but only 50' wide. Those guys could have landed there. . . with a 747. Nice.

Personally, 20'X1500' grass. Nothing too impressive I know, but fun anyway.
