An interesting (if predictable) discussion going on in the comments section in that link.

Annoying that we won't see him on English CBC, though. As a long-standing MP, and party leader, his perspective on Canadian politics would be interesting, I think. I'm

Not sure how I square his separatist politics with his taking a salary from a corporation that exists, in part, to strengthen the bonds between Canadians across the country..

Former Bloc leader Duceppe and CBC radio part ways even before new job starts

I hope there’s no severance pay.

Didn't they tell you? You're on double secret probation.

As for Duceppe? Not an issue. When the fall session starts Harper's going to end the CBC thus putting Gilles out of work for a second time this year. :smt041

I was on the road all day Tuesday Siddley, and missed your link.

How could you not have PM'd me on something as important as this?

What scummy CBC exec thought this was a good idea?

Sound effect ..... tullah tullah, tuhlah laaa .... "Update, Update! This news is happening now!" .... .. I see that now there has been a parting of the ways, both parties have reconsidered, and the potential love affair has ended with a few quick gropes of each other's gonads in a dark alley after the bars let out after last call.

The concept of this little weasel-nosed separatist gettting my tax money to be in the House of Commons and advocate for the breakup of the country, collects a pension, then further sucks on the public teat of the 1.1 billion dollar CBC boondoggle irks me, .... but its far from surprizing.

With the exception of the excellent, dare I say superalative Rex Murphy, there isn't a single "sensible" on-air person at the national level of the CBC.

I think there's plenty of decent stuff on CBC Radio, (Randy Bachmann's Vinyl Tap, Age of Persuasion, Quirks and Quarks, among others), but yea, there's a load of garbage on there too, and even more on TV.

I love how they just got a 1 year extension on their requirement to switch over to a digital signal too. Gives them a little 1 year monopoly over everyone who's still using standard-def TV sets.

no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.

It looks like the CBC has been caught in a lie about what the ever-loving ball of fun Duceppe was supposed to be doing at the state broadcaster .... but we'll never know how much it cost us.

With the taxpayer giving the CBC over a billion dollars a year, they don't really care if a hundred grand goes out the window. Tax dollars hard a work!
