Air Canada Medical
I was just wondering what information Air Canada requires during the medical evaluation they do as part of the hiring process. Do they have you sign a medical release allowing them to access your medical history? Do they want a list of all previous doctors or just your current one?

Re: Air Canada Medical
I don't recall them asking ANY information like that. The medical is quite thorough so I expect that they don't need to rely on previous medical history.
Re: Air Canada Medical
I was wondering about the same thing, thanks for your reply.

They don't ask anything like that, nor would they be allowed to. They don't even ask who your family Dr. is

If you work for Jazz, they call Jazz up and ask them how many times you have been sick.

Hmmm not sure they can legally do that? I could be wrong though.
following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

No they can't, but they did and I heard it led to a couple of lawsuits.Mclovin wrote:Bede wrote:If you work for Jazz, they call Jazz up and ask them how many times you have been sick.

Re: Air Canada Medical
They have done it in the past but as far as I know the only situation they ask Jazz for your sick days (any your training records is if you are hired under LOU 18. Since its not in effect anymore I doubt they can still ask.
In reality it shouldn't be a big deal. The few pilots I know who had their sick day usage challenged simply showed why they had used so many and that satisfied the company. On they other hand if you've been taking sick days because its nice out and don't feel like working, then all bets are off.

I think you must be sick if you want to work for Air Canada.
