Interesting, TC sold a really nice Beaver on amphibs to get this POS......I wonder if it is going to be replaced by a real float plane.

Looks sold.

If you mean Cat Driver .. I think he should have put a lean on it for the money they owe him.

Blakey,

Do you mean "." as in our mutual "friend"? You know the one who's always politically incorrect, sometimes borderline racist, always looking to make a buck kinda guy? :D

Yeah am sure he'll be trying to convince you that you really should trade in that bird of yours for his "new" 206 of his the next time you drop by his place!!!

Tell him I say "hello" won't ya?!!!

No, I was thinking about Cat Driver. Although, now that you mention it, our . might not mind driving a plane with "Transport Canada" emblazoned on it! It might deflect a few complaints from time to time!

When are you home again?

Wow a 206 on amphibs? Can it even fly off water or do you have to tow it back onto dry land to take off again?

The minimum bid is $159,000. From those in the know, and given that this was maintained by the deep pockets of Transport Canada, is this considered to be a good deal?

Would be amusing to hop around to all the little float operators unannounced and watch everyone scramble.

550, tip extensions, flaperon kit, copliot door, BAS harnesses, 206's don't get any nicer than that bird. Why you wouldn't just go out and get a 185 though where all the mods aren't necessary, and it still performs better is just beyond me though. The only thing that airplane can do that the 185 can't is haul a drum with that big cargo door.

However, cat people are cat people, dog people are dog people, just as: 206 people are 206 people, and 185 people are 185 people.

FYI studies have shown that 185 people are smarter, healthier, live longer, and have larger penises than their 206 counter parts.

This sounds like a great deal FYI, someone is going to get an awesome airplane (albeit a 206), for that price.

Edit: the winning closed bid I imagine will be well over 200k. It's been a while since I've looked at sale prices of float planes, but it wasn't long ago birds like that were selling for over 250k to 300k. Whoever gets that thing is going to have one of the nicest 206 pistons in the country.

When I flew for Coulson Aircrane we had a TU206 on Whipline Amphibs.

It was a real nice machine to fly and we could put a GE turbine engine in the back for engine changes in the field on the S61's.

I flew about 800 hours on it over a couple of years and loved the little thing.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
