YYZ Assessments
Anyone know when the next assessment session is planned for YYZ or how often they are held for this region?

Re: YYZ Assessments
i asked the same question to navcanada in december. they told me that the usual assessment schedule is about every 3-4 months in most regions. that wasn't a good enough answer so i didn't hang up just yet and the lovely lady said expect one in the mid-end of winter for YYZ. only the top 50 candidates are asked to attend and I believe it costs about $200 or so. now the ultimate kicker is that they wont tell you your rank which is the worst!!! if anyone has a more specific answer I wanna hear it!!

Re: YYZ Assessments
I have heard that training in Toronto in postponed until the next fiscal year (September). However, they will still want to have candidates in the pool so hopefully there will be an assessment session shortly. When was the last one held?

Re: YYZ Assessments
There were about 20 of us that wrote it in November 2009... Everything in the process went extremely fast and I was getting "ready" for a May IFR course only to find out that everything has been cancelled till atleast the new fiscal year as jakey also mentioned... I dont see why they would hold an assesment session anytime soon though, especially since during my second interview I was told that the March VFR course was essentially full, and they were looking for people for the May IFR course... With both courses cancelled I wold imagine that there are atleast 10-15 people in the pools waiting for a course offer...

Re: YYZ Assessments
Well I called them a couple weeks ago and you guys are correct. Fiscal year it looks like and thats a big maybe aswell!! I am waiting for that invite everyday but I won't hold my breathe just due to the fact I have been givin several stories over the past few months. I figure when they actually know what they are doing I will find out through the forums before navcanada anyways.
take care fellas

If they think it is going to be a busier summer, they may be delaying the training to avoid summer overtime and delays.

Re: YYZ Assessments
This might seem obvious, but make sure you check your junk mail. The assessment e mail for me (a while back) went to my email junk folder.
Good luck.
