Jazz pay?
Wondering what pay is like at Jazz. I checked out the website http://www.airlinepilotpay.com and it gives the salary as hourly pay. Is this for flying only (75 hours per month) or for the duty day.
Anyone out there that can clear this up for me.

Hey Bamboo.
The answer is both actually.
Jazz, like many airlines, use a credit system to determine pay. It is usually a minimum of 4 to 4.5 hours or total flight time or total duty time which ever is greatest.
If you go over your minimum guarantee(in this case 75 hours), then you get overtime
.
Hope this answers your question.

If he was hired in 2001 he would probably be ex Air Nova. As for being furloughed, the layoffs were done WAY out of seniority. When the four airlines merged to become Jazz, there was some disagreement on how to handle upgrades and layoffs so the arbitrator came up with a formula. It was called the Adams award and it allowed for upgrades for some that were too junior to hold it and furloughed guys that should have been flying. That award has since expired and things are slowly getting back to normal. I believe all furloughed Jazz pilots will be back online by July.
