Looks like something worth researching more. (No, I'm not gonna go out and smoke dope now- interwebs research.)

Ideas? Opinions?

This is what I got when I googled "antineoplastic activity of cannabinoids".

http://www.ukcia.org/research/Antineopl ... /index.php

After a quick skim, it appears that certain THCs slow tumour growth rate in mice. Hmm. No cure, and I'm not sold on animal research results 100 percent because humans are not mice, and the mice are alone in cages, not in their natural environment meeting new mice to mate with and eating mice stuff.

A few other studies I've looked at make my head spin with the medical and chemical jargon.

We could be onto something here though.

(Disclosure: I'm a PhD candidate in biology.)

There isn't and will likely never be a "cure for cancer". There may come a day when many/most individual types (and subtypes) of cancer can be cured, but nothing will ever be a magic bullet.

The difficulty with cancer is that it's not a single disease. It's your own cells that have mutated to not-stop growing. Each type of cancer comes from a different type of cell and requires different treatment. Furthermore, it's your own damned cells that are growing, and its remarkably difficult for your body and/or drugs to tell the difference between good and bad cells. (That's why treatment for cancer can be almost as bad as the cancer itself.)

I'd be happy to explain more if anyone has questions, but for now, I better go do some science.
