Is it normal for companies to only begin calling candidates after the job posting has closed? I applied to a position two weeks ago where I have pretty much all of the qualifications required including previous clearances and some good experience however, I have not received a call back for an interview. The position is still open for another few days. Is it normal to have not heard anything by now?

Thanks!

In a nut shell yes it is normal.

Even after the date, you may still wait abit while the CP or OM review all the resumes.

Cheers, hang in there

Thankfully I don't have to deal with CPs. I'm not a pilot :prayer: :prayer:

On the other hand, it could be that the company is looking for someone now but doesn't want to discourage applications and posts an arbitrary closing date. The "real" closing date could be only a couple of days after the job was posted.

It is also possible that they do not bother with call backs; which seems to be a rising trend.

Unless those qualifications that you have are a current ppc and time on type it might just be that there are more qualified candidates applying. It's still an employers market and next time you see a job ad up on the board check how many views it has in the first 24 hours.
Be sure to check the ads that say anything about first officer or king airs, they will easily reach 2000 views.
I have only gotten one call back in my last 20 or so applications to posted ads.
