If we can put oil in the engine while we're flying then we have absolutely no problem at all.

Interesting video. I wonder if they would bother to salvage it if it's a piston instead of a turbo prop.

The last piston machine down there was a DC6. It is still at approximately 80 S 80 W. It has been there since 91. There is an LI2T the other side of the continent from the 50's. it's still on the ice close to Mawson.

Nowadays, airplanes with bleed air heat are all the rage down on the Ice.

But, knowing the salvage crew, they would have pulled out a piston machine just for fun. They are superbly talented.

KBA is operating it. In fact it will be on it way back down to the Antarctic in the next few weeks. It was down last year as well.

I worked next door to KBA and watched them do a total rebuild of the airplane. It left the hangar looking better than a new airplane.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Is it the one parked in front of the Viking hangar in YYC?

Could be. There are two painted the same. EAI and EAJ.
