The first rule of no longer being RNAV equipped is you don't talk about no longer being RNAV equipped.
Re: Looking for any Kelowna Flightcraft 727 Drivers
second rule of no RNAV possible is you never mention unable direct WXRST

Upgrading. Does that ease the curiosity?invertedattitude wrote:I had PM'd, but if its not a secret... what's the details behind all the 727's no longer being RNAV equipped?

Re: Looking for any Kelowna Flightcraft 727 Drivers
Transport Canada informed us that in order to use our GPS several requirements are needed:
1. GPS data cards be current.
2. Crews be flight checked using GPS.
3. Most importantly the GPS must be coupled to the flight director.
As only our DC10's are coupled the other aircraft are unable to request or accept direct routings to intersections other than those with ground based navaid tracking. I know several other operators still use theirs without them being coupled but until they are told to stop they won't.
That's the short version.

Now for the important question. When are they hiring straight onto the DC_10(forward facing seat). Less training cost you know.

Never, we have a seniority list with pilots waiting for their chance to upgrade...like most airlines.
