Recent North Cariboo Info...
Wondering if anyone has any updated info on North Cariboo, Particularily pay and schedule on the dash 8? Seem like they have had an job posting for every type of airplane they fly in the past few months. I saw that in a previous forum that f/o pay on dash was $38000. Any info is appreciated.

If you switch planes or get hired you can expect a bond. Dash goes 2years/24K, pro rated if you leave.
Perdiems, 3.00 $/hour, take off time till last shutdown.
Hope that helps.

2 years on Dash and 1 year on everything else. If you have a ppc already (for the plane your hired for) there will be no bond but you may be position frozen. If your on a bond you are position frozen for the length of the bond as well.Clark Kent wrote:If you switch planes or get hired you can expect a bond. Dash goes 2years/24K, pro rated if you leave.

Per diems start at check in time to a max of $42 in a 24 hr period.

Plus you get to fly in planes with an extremely nice looking paint scheme!! Whoever picked that design deserves a big thumbs up!! Same for Canadian North also.

It's charter.
You are called the day before for the flight. So basically you are "on call" all the time. No set schedule.
Days can be long over 14 hour days and go up north rig crew changes.

Yes its charter but the majority of flying is scheduled charter. Same flights every week. Schedule is set, your either mon to fri or 10 on 4 off with every second weekend off fri to mon.
Some days can be long but some days can be short. If your working over 14 hrs your splitting anyway. Depends which aircraft your on but every plane type has a good mix of flying these days.

What is their Pay structure for 1900 FO?

Hmmm - for living in Calgary? Housing costs there, including rentals, are way out of proportion to incomes such as that mentioned above. Companies should recognise this and either pay a salary of sufficient size to enable one to live in the vicinity of the base without subsidising the company through parents/spouse, from savings or a second job (with its resulting continual fatigue as per the Colman Air Flight 3407 crew) or else be prepared to help with crew housing. It's the whole remuneration package that counts so responsible companies that pay a low basic salary bring their packages up to par by adding on various bonuses or by providing free or subsidised housing for their employees.
Does North Cariboo provide any employee accommodation or a subsidy towards arranging your own?
The answer to the above demonstrates the safety attitude of the company. If it does provide accommodation or bonuses that bring the compensation package up to par for living in Calgary then congratulations to it. However, if it effectively forces its crews to work while under financial stress or fatigued by having to use much of their off duty time for a second job to make ends meet then it can hardly claim to be a safe and responsible operator. This is not a company-specific issue. The same comments and question also apply to far too many air operators.

Re: Recent North Cariboo Info...
Anyone know if they're hiring for any entry level / ramp positions? I'd like to get my foot in the door, but with 300 hours... Well...
