Dash 8-300 in New Paint
They are picking up a newly painted DHC8-300 from YQA paint shop today. It's suppost to go to Montreal according to the charter site. Anyone see it yet in the new "express" paint? Post pic you you do!

now that is all shiny and freshly painted, I'm sure it can do another 50,000 hours/cycles without any objections

I would be worried if I was on an old beater Dash and oil and 5606 wasn't leaking....it would mean some system was about to run outBeach 200 wrote:Nice job Zither, did they paint the engine nacelles dark green or that baby blue?.... Oil stains are gonna show up pretty fast!

Agreed. Not the most imaginative paint job.
Is that Tail #325?

if you remove the red maple leaf, this bird can be stealthier then a B2 on a cloudy, overcast winter day!! Watch out Navcanada!

New paint looks great! Tail 325 was one of my favorites. My first "good" landing in the -300 was with GEWQ so I have a special place in my memory for it.

Any landing that neither crew nor passengers negatively comment on is a good Dash landing.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the newbie question, will jazz be repainting all of their aircraft with the new express paint scheme? If so how long do they expect it to take?
thanks

Re: Dash 8-300 in New Paint
Yes, all a/c will get the new paint. Typical paint schedule is 5-6 years.
Ironically, some a/c just received new paint but in the Jazz colours. Guess they were scheduled prior to the announcement of AC Express.
We'll hold onto our own identity for a few years longer.

Re: Dash 8-300 in New Paint
Well actually the 757's will remain in Thomas Cook colors and 2 or 3 dash's and an RJ will keep the Jazz colors for charters.

So is Jazz now Air Canada Express?? I thought Sky Regional was Air Canada Express...

Re: Dash 8-300 in New Paint
Jazz is still jazz (and sky regional is and always has been sky regional...)
To avoid confusion(?) AC has decided to brand all regional flights sold through air Canada as "Air Canada Express"... This means Jazz, Sky Regional, Georgian, etc are listed as air Canada express, and will probably paint their fleets to reflect this name. It has nothing to do with the actual operator. This is pretty common in the US, where multiple regionals will operate as (mainline name) express. For example, the Colgan Q400 that crashed in KBUF had Continental express painted on the side. I found that crash interesting, sine they managed to have everyone refer to it as the Colgan crash, and left Continental out of the news!
