Canada should have a castle doctrine

A friend of mine from North Carolina explained to me their law:

You can kill someone breaking into your house, but you can't kill them after they've broken in.

So, everyone in NC shoots the intruder, then drags them back to the door. Keeps the politicians happy, I suppose.
