What's considered low time for floats on the West coast?

Post by Road Trip »

I've done a couple of seasons in MB & Northern Ontario about half my time on floats. I'd like to get back to my home province of BC.

I know HA, Sea Air, PASCO etc all want at least 1000-1500hrs on floats, coast time etc.

My question is, are their any other companies that hire lower time float drivers? I don't mean 7hr seaplane rating people but 250hrs? 500hrs? Any chance?

250 - 500. .

Anyone on the west side of the island:
Tofino Air, Atleo, Air Nootka, & Air Cab.

West Coast Air used to be one of the bigger firms that picked up fellas with low time (really low sometimes), but has since scrapped that policy after HA bailed them out.

Good luck.
