looking at the beaver pilot wanted/$4500 a month thread i can't help but notice the way this reflects on the current condition of float flying. there's ads in wings magazine again for float pilots...when was the last time you saw any of those? 2000?
over the last three years of float flying i don't think too many guys had the luxury of letting a job like that just sit there with the owner posting 'i'm still looking...just give me a call.' it's sure nice to see a change like this...maybe not so nice for the owners tho.
what a change

i agree, but it's still tough to get started in the float world... minimums kill a lot of high hopes and yes, perseverance is a must, but you can only sleep in your car and suck EI for so long.... I wish i could have stayed on the water this year, but alas took a land job. Hope to be back on the water in the next year or 2. FLOATS RULE!!!!!!
i also noticed the pay seems to be higher for pilots on floats (in particular the Beaver this year...is it just me? my pay sucked as floater)
power to the pilots!
fly safe
