Re: First job
Your question is a bit vague so I will ask, Do you already have that ground job and looking for info/advice on upgrading time to the flight line or were you offered a spot on the ground or are you still looking for an entry level job?
What is your experience level going into the potential job? Good luck, first jobs are a very exciting time! Whatever you do, Just dont sell yourself out or sell yourself short with crappy terms and conditions to get or accept that first job!

Re: First job
Remember that single-pilot IFR w pax requires a thousand hours total time and a hundred hours of multi, assuming the plane is multi-engine. Do you have that time? If not, how do you plan on getting it in an operation that runs SPIFR? If they don't have 2 crew in their ops specs then you can't log time sitting in the right seat. Lots of stuff to consider. Oh, and Merry Christmas!
Re: First job
Thanks for reply guys
I have an interview in a week, I am confident I will gt the ground position leading to flight deck.
Currently at 250 hrs, company does have 2 crew operations. But not much. Mostly SPIFR.
Just a little worried how much flying I will get in with company.
But I feel like I should not be complaining as this is my first entry level job.
Thanks
Merry Christmas.

Re: First job
Re-read what Sulako said. Those are CARS mins not arbitrary numbers. If the company is mainly spifr, how long will it take to get 1000hrs total time? Do they even have ops specs for 2 crew allowing you to log right seat time? Dont just settle for any job if there is no chance for it to lead to anything within a reasonable timeframe.

To further add to what Cndpilot77 said....
You are being hired for a ground position not a flight position. Having your CPL although usefull does not entitle you to a direct flight crew position initially with this company. You need to remind yourself of the position you are being hired for.
Sure the owner may be thinking "if this kid shows good work ethic, I may be able to slowly promote him to a right seat when possible" but you can't just go into this job with a sence of entitlement. If you do, chances are that you won't get anywhere with them.
Keep your head down, your mouth shut when it comes to talking about yourself being newly licenced pilot, (the senior rampies don't give a rats ass, and management already know your qualifiations) work hard and let your work ethic on the ground do the speaking for you.
Merry Christmas and best wishes with this prospective employer.

Re: First job
I worked for a company that took 200 hour guys and put them on the ramp and them PCC'd them on the HO and the Caravan and let them build time toward 500; then put them into a King Air 200 as a full time FO. Once they got 1000TT they went back to the HO as a skipper and then around 1500 TT with an ATPL pilots moved to the left seat of the King Air 200.
I had a friend come to the company with just over 200 hours. He made it into the right seat of the King Air in about 6 months if not less. Almost as soon as he had 1000TT he was a captain on the HO.
These places exist and are awesome. The HO and the Caravan are typically operated SPIFR at the above mentioned company as well. They pcc'd people just so they could time build.
Good luck!

Sorry buddy!
My wife just brought in a new BB but have yet figured out the system here... The kind folks at the phone store here keep giving me blank looks when I ask for "Edge" coverage/plans... As soon as I can get it sorted will shoot ya an email with my pin...
Best wishes to you, your lovely wife and the pooch!

TPC
