As has been noted elsewhere, those who get to ride the front of that wave of hiring at AC will do well... Even toward the back end of it, if you're young enough, you should do allright too, the ride might just be a wee bit rough for a while at some points...
But if you previously worked for JetsGo you will have to bring a check for $30k to the interview. I will be the guy at the door collecting so make sure it is certified!!!

Come on!
I remember in 2000 at the school I did some training, some instructors got with Jazz so fast that it was scary! That is what they said.
At this time it was taking an average of 3 weeks to get a new job!
After 2001 I really felt the difference!
Now if you tell me that 10 years ago it was even better....well I am very impressed indeed!

'CL'...that's Classic...LOL!!!
Glad to hear that things may start moving...too many + 4,000h King Air pilots out there!!
Hey its a step up. In the early 90's there were more than a handful of 5000-hr Navajo drivers. (so I hear)
I remember seeing a resume from a 5000+ hr pilot in the early 90's. The company I worked for had a C-172 and an Aztec (which was parked), we didn't hire the guy.

Flying a twin only doubles your chance of having an engine failure
Had close to 4000 hrs in the early 90's on a navajo, couldn't find a job anywhere ( well anywhere I wanted to be) Things sucked big time. now have close to 4000 hrs on 757/767, things are better.
Get the resume out folks, the hiring spree I predict of 99/2000 is coming and hope the hell you have what they're looking for, cause it may be a long wait for the next cycle.
The CMSC Review of Bid 05-01 has been completed. This review of all factors includes:
•Retirements up to and including April 30, 2006.
•Increase on the Embraer (EMJ) and reduction on the CL-65.
•The recall of all remaining Pilots on Furlough, and the potential to hire.
And,
CMSC Review 05-01
May 4th, 2005
Ladies and Gentlemen:
CMSC Review 05-01 has been released for your consideration. The closing date and time are set for Monday, May 16th at 15:00 EST. The results should be released within 10 days after the closing date. A training plan will be issued within 60 days of the bid closure.
The CMSC strongly urges that each pilot review their SPB to ensure sufficient choices have been requested.
This bid reflects the following;
• 32 retirements up to and including April 30, 2006
• An increase in EMJ Captain and FO positions in Montreal and Toronto;
• Further reduction of the CL-65 (*see note) in YYZ;
• The recall of all remaining pilots on furlough;
• The potential to hire pilots.
Both quotes less than 14 days old. No mention of 600 (or even 60). "
That bid is closed, and the results will be published likely by Friday. That apparent intent was to get all the furloughed pilots recalled. There have been a high number of refusals to return.
AC has called up a number of pilots in the hiring pool. There have been a surprising number of refusals there too apparently. The conditions of hiring to AC are not great now, so pilots are having to weigh the sacrifice more now than ever.
Yes that is Bid 05-01. It shows all the recalls being brought back. AC has two bids a year, the next one being 05-02 and ACPA has been told by the company to expect an increase of 600 pilots over and above the recalls.
That may show on the next bid or may be spread out over the next few. Hiring is to start in July.
There are some guys on recall you have signed long term contracts, either with the military or operators overseas. I am not sure how tose situations will be handled.
Got the call last Thursday - off to YYZ next week for medical and file-review. Things are finally starting to pick up!
TORONTO LEC NEWSLETTER 2005 #10
May 13th, 2005
FURLOUGHS, RECALLS AND HIRING
There are still 79 pilots on furlough.
The Company has advised that they expect to have offered all remaining furlough pilots the ability to recall within the next few months. Your representatives have been pressing hard for the Company to live up to the verbal (and in some cases written) commitments to the furloughed pilots to grant a LOA at the time of recall to fulfill commitments they made to their current employers. While progress has been made, we still have no final agreement from the Company on this issue and the Recall Protocol remains incomplete.
It should also be noted that Company officials have indicated to us that we will likely be hiring 600 pilots in the next year and will likely run a new hire course as early as July.
In this industry, things are always up and down. I guess in some way, it's kind of like shooting an ILS approach in minimum weather conditions. You put all your energy and concentration into your approaches and when you get to minimums, you become frustrated, when there's no contact and you have to overshoot. Then finally, there's that one approach, where you get down to minimums and you finally see the lights and you bring her in for a greaser. What a relief! That's almost the same type of relief you get, after all those months, or even years of trying to get ahead and then finally getting a break. Lets hope that things will really start looking up.
600 guys huh, that's quite a lot!! I thought it was only going to be a couple hundred. Oh well, the more people, the merrier!

I'm the CP and Ops Man for a company, (not naming which one), and we're hiring but can't get people with enough time to make insurance. People don't realize that now a days insurance makes more of a difference than anything. I have a 2950 TT and 2500 TT pilot i can't get insured to fly a damn caravan as captain. No incidents or accidents on there records. Now we just need to get those damn insurance company's to work with us and we can really start to get this industry moving. They only made 5.5 BILLION dollars in profit lastyear. Damn Thief's
Alright i'm fine now, just had to get my anger out. And ohya they have to be the most STUPID people in the world to. "The Caravan isn't retractable" my response, "Well it is if you land it in the water, with wheels"
