Beef: Looking at the current TAF I think you may want to be around the threshold of 16 instead.

I hope it is 16 as there is a couple of prime viewing spots for that runway.

Yes, there's a few spots on Aero Drive that are good. There is a nice open field near the tower also but I suspect it is mud right now so I'm going to stay on the pavement.

It just taxied to apron 2. They were on final when I pulled up. The lot near the tower is dry and was the second best spot. My wife's avalanche isthe wrong colour and doesn't have a numberon the sides I couldn't park in the best spot. :D

Pictures don't really do it justice. I took a pretty blurry video. I'll try to post it later.

I watched it leave from a spot near my kid's school.

From what I have seen so far, I agree. Seems like there were a ton of people around YYC though with some pretty expensive looking cameras, so hopefully there will be some good shots posted online soon.

I was able to see both the takeoff and landing. Watched the landing just off of Aero drive on the dirt road, then later watched the takeoff by Shell. Looks like they took off right before all this weird weather :)

Edit - Here are some pretty cool pics: http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/03/13/wo ... t-aircraft
