Interested to know if anyone here uses heli style headset for aeroplane use.
I like the coiled chord that seems a standard for heli headsets, but, i am curious to know if the headset itself and/or adapter (single prong to two prong) causes interference or reduces the quality of noise canceling (ANR) when dialed in to an aeroplane.
Any recommends

I have used them for years just get the 2 prong adapter, it works fine. The headset I am currently using is a DC H10-13X. It originally had about a 10 foot straight cord on it. I never understood why they put such a long cord on it. I finally got fed up with the length of the cord and had our avionics guys change it to a coil cord with a single prong. Works great with the two prong adapter.

FWIW, I have two DC H10-76 headsets in our Cessnas with the David Clark Lo-Hi impedence adapters and they work just fine.
I have run into a little feedback issues when I use an H-10-36 on my Icom IC-A24... nasty squeal on tx.... but if I install an RF choke on the microphone lead strapped to the boom, the issue goes away... apparently there is an issue with some headsets and Icom handhelds.

I use the Zulu with the coiled helicopter cord and the adapter. It works perfectly. I hate straight cords, especially in the beaver because they easily get caught in the door. The other advantage of using the adapter is that the plugs on it take all the wear and tear, which ads up if you're switching aircraft a lot or remove your headset at the end of each day.
