Air Canada Pilot Numbers

Post by Arthur Q »

I was asked this the other day and did not know. Does anybody know how many pilots work for Air Canada? Including who is working and how many furlough. I know this may have been asked earlier, but could not find it. Thanks :smt100

They haven't hired since spring 2002, and I imagine hundreds have retired since then. I heard around 2500 currently.

That is not really accurate either, because there are more pilots than that on the seniority list, including management, non-bidders of one sort or another. The 3000 figure is closer, but the seniority numbers go over 3000 because there are people on long term disability that will hold a number for some period of time - possibly to retirement age even.

You are right. The numbers I quoted are "active pilots"
