Anyone know the difference between Silica smoke and Silica flour, if any??? Doing a repair on a composite engine intake (AW101) and they list these compounds for the repair. Just curious if anyone knows the difference...

The product formed from silica smoke is Cabosil. Cabosil is a very small partial and it is not smooth but almost snow flake like in structure. The jagged structure makes the partials lock together and not roll over each other like smooth round partials. A resin thickened with Cabosil will hold on vertical surfaces better than a resin thickened with smooth round silica flour.
