Anyone find a link for this show online? Being spoiled with watching other shows directly on the channels website, but not so much with Discovery channel..

I agree. Tune out the over dramatic narration and there is actually some good pilot decision making going on.

The Merlin has huge fuel tanks with full tanks weighing 4250 lbs. A heavy Merlin may have zero payload at full fuel and even a light one is crew only with full tanks so what ever is in the cabin is a ferry overload.

At one point in the show one of the Merlin pilots mumbles something about their 15,000lb takeoff. Wikipedia says the Merlin 3 max takeoff weight is 13,230 lb, which puts them 1,770 lbs overweight.

I think a ferry flight can 25 percent overweight. Lots of over the top drama but a good show anyway.

Well... knowing that the editing will make it more dramantic..but
1) Low flying in area you know nothing about (or any low flying) Good things no power lines in Brazil
2) Leaving on long over jungle flight not knowing why the battery went dead.
3) Look..master fixed its self. Lets carry on
4) Landing a unknown unimproved strip without flyover. - Short Final - "Oh look .. a fence"
5) Leaving Egypt with less than VFR Reserves

The problem with trying to pick apart a show like this is that you have know idea what they don't show you. Maybe Kerry is familiar with the river or did a recon. Maybe they knew that a light got left on. Master fixed, I don't know, I'd fly it no big deal. Landing on a grass strip isn't really that scary. The fuel thing was a little tight though. The owner was flying and Randy agreed to go so if they want to practice their dead stick desert landings it's no skin off my back. I'm really starting to enjoy the show even if I do yell at the TV from time to time.

An appropriate reply from a guy who's handle is "scary".

At least Cory has the sense to hire exceptional pilots who don't take any shit from him, and he accepts their decisions without too much complaint. The Egypt flight had me scratching my head though...Randy normally seems very smart, but it doesn't seem too smart departing into a warzone on a long flight with 24mins of reserve. There must have been another option.

Its the headwinds that are the issue... Coming back that is!..Nothing like the feeling of an approach into a dark foggy Reyakivik with only the lights of your low level caution light in both tanks to give you a start...

Reminds me of a buddy ferrying a tragic heap of parts flying in loose formation across Canada. Headwinds pushed his arrival time until after dark. None of the cockpit lighting worked and he didn't have a flashlight but there was enough light from the various red and yellow and orange warning lights that were illuminated, he didn't have any trouble reading the instruments.

The last ferry flight I did was to pick up a Cessna 421 in Toronto and fly it to its new owner on the West Coast. When I arrived I gave him a snag list with 59 items on it

Why do people buy heaps of junk from halfway round the world anyway? Surely there are enough crappy planes close to you.

They didn't have much luck changing their flight plan in Africa... Wouldn't ATC be more understanding when the pilots are saying they are low on fuel?

Canadian registered aircraft land in Sudan on a regular basis on ferry flights. There are some serious issues in the country but in general International airports remain safe for landing for a quick tech stop for fuel. Better planning would have made for a whole lot less drama for a TV show, but it also would have been a whole lot safer. I'm a little surprised that an Operator would allow their pilots to show the lack of judgement the PIC had going over Greenland. Perhaps that is why the Operator is currently hiring Dornier Captains.

Interesting series, but definitely 'fluffed up' for TV.

What? Too bad that pilot was the CP of Summit. Don't worry, Super Dave had it under control. If required, he could have done a split-S followed by continuous snap rolls all the way back to base. ;)

I like the show. I think it's just the right amount of fluff.

Something about the owner of the company being an ex car salesman put a bad taste in my mouth from the start. I can't wait to see him do a solo ferry flight. I've got the popcorn on standby.

Not just the CP. At the time this was taped he was still a part owner. One would think prior to leaving Yellowknife they would have had the flight plan all figured out. Rather then looking like a foul saying he has been up most of the night trying to figure the last leg out on the day they were doing the last leg. Ya the show is about drama but if this is even close to true then Super Dave really isn't a very smart man. Even if it isn't and he did this for show he really didn't make him self look very smart.

Why is there 2 crew to ferry a 206 or a Bonanza? I would much rather have 250# more fuel then a used car salesman in the right seat??

I tried watching this show. 30 seconds of my life, gone forever. The narration was so sensationalized and stupid, it was offensive.

I sure hope nobody watches TV and thinks, "That's the way aircraft are flown".
