Duty day tracker

Post by toelessjoe »

Greetings;

I'm looking for a decent program to keep track of duty days/flight times, preferably one that will be able to flag when a pilot is close to requiring a day off prior to violating CARS. I know Wasaya had a good system so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Yes, I'm certain a quick google search would yeild results but I want feedback from actual users. Plus I'm lazy. :smt040

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but I whipped this up and it has worked for me as a seasonal driver.

+ 1 on the flight duty xls, I've used it for years, good product and the service was great the couple times I needed it.

flight duty xls works well when it is functioning but it has issues running on a network and it crashes quite often. The crash can result in a total loss pilot entries.

FLTDUTY XLS (and PLUS) are designed for stand alone Windows application installed to your C:\ drive. Many users install on a network. Might work OK, but this is outside the design use of the program.

The solution (?) to lost data is to always maintain a good backup in a safe place so you can Import the last good record back into the program and overwrite the lost or corrupted data... Use File > Close > File > Import/Export > Export Pilot record > select your Pilot Name; check to Include Profile information; check to Include Label text > browse to a safe place (USB stick...) > click Copy for good backups. Don't overwrite old good information with new corrupted info... Data files are comma delimited text files and should grow in size (KB's) with age. To recover from lost or corrupted data, click File > Close > File > Import/Export > Import Pilot records > browse to your backup location (USB drive) > select your Pilot Name; check to Include Profile information > click Copy. Enter current data manually since last backup.

Should be OK.
