The evolution of code share. Right now AC is part of the trans Atlantic Joint Venture. The Transboarder Joint Venture is on hold waiting the competition tribunal.

Essentially it is a virtual merge since real mergers are not legal at the moment with many states.

All airlines involved sit down and plan schedules and connections together. It requires anti trust immunity in the US which has been granted, and competition tribunal approval here.

All revenue is shared on a % of operation, not route by route.

But that is the key. Revenue sharing based on % of trans boarder operation. AC needs to operate to get the revenue. To use pinnacle they would need to get AC code on them. They would need a CPA with them.

I was pointing out AC would not likely just dump the flying to a regional operating under a CPA for UA.

As for specifically what is planned? Who knows. However one of CR's goals is to have a sizable competitor in place for Jazz by the time CPA renewal takes place. How does one build a competitor and use Pinnacle at the same time?

On balance my guess would be no. AC has a finite amount of regional capacity required. They are almost maxed out on ACPA scope now. The present push by the company, based on the last offer we have seen, looks to increase regional ASM's by about 70% and with larger aircraft. So airframes will not increase as much as ASM's. If we assume they could put 50 more regional aircraft in the air after the ACPA negotiations for example. I would guess SKY not Pinnacle.

Based on the precedence and pattern of government imposed forced arbitrations lately, it would seem that Air Canada will get very near the terms they proposed in TA1

Hoping those in the know can explain in general terms what an imposed TA1 contract will mean to relatively new hires or future hires.

I have heard alot of technical terms thrown around by people engrossed in the details of the process, so I guess I am asking for advice and the general outlook for those still considering Air Canada as a possible career in the near or far future...

Smart ass responses/ internet meme's need not reply!

David,

That's the million dollar question. No one here is in the know and anything posted with respect to what the new contract will contain would be pure speculation.

Quit fishing Spaz,
Under your logic, next year Pinnacle/Colgan would be doing ALL of the trans border flying. They are cheaper than mainline, and they are cheaper than Jazz, but they also have track records of major hull losses.....

His logic seems pretty sound at this point. http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=81703

So, if a emb FO gets laid off but has a SR number for his call back... when do they get called back if another company starts doing your flying?

Exactly. Bet all you bastards will have a day when you wish you would have booked off sick with the rest of us and shut this fucker down.

By the way, labour law doesn't cross borders. Gone, gone, gone.

For anyone thinking The FTA would have avoided this, you're wrong. It just would have been a slightly slower process with us going along willingly.

Rick Allen told a command upgrade class last month that, "the bottom thousand guys may not be working here next year...". Fucking fat loser.

Keep single engine taxiing team.

ACPA isn't the problem, the stupid fucking pilots I work with are.

I empathize with your frustration. You guys are in a "damned if you, damned if you don't" position and it really SUCKS. All the AC unions need to unite and somehow convince the shareholders that it is in their best interest not to let management continue down this destructive path. Ultimately it will go the way of American Airlines and no one will win, including the shareholders or unions... Just the management pigs who get massive severance cheques!!! I have never seen such HORRIBLE management. They seem to know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. '

AC is a great place to work. Am i a bit worried maybe a bit but that has always been on my mind since i stoped flying pop and potato chips in the north. It is aviation after all and i have been lucky and havent had to cross that bridge yet, and hopefully I dont now, only time will tell. But enjoy the moment and where you are and if the time come tgan I will enjoy the extra time home working for the govt (standing outside my mps office every morning and meeting him with a slow clap). When the call comes to come back to work I will have a senority number and recall right will go back in a second

This has been tried on more than one occasion. ACPA seems to always respectfully decline the invitation to a Labour Coalition. Seems they know better...

I'm not sure exactly what he could've done seeing as he was in PIT course in march and didn't even have a vote.

Hey Sulako,

I apologize for my lack of politeness. It's because my mother smoked when she was pregnant, and as a result I have some...shortcomings... It makes me feel like a badass to post angrily on an internet forum, but I have decided to stop posting because I have finally realized it isn't gonna make my manhood any bigger. Now I'm off to hug a puppy, and maybe sniff some roses. Have a great day, each and every one of you!
