LASIK eye surgery
I have a friend, wink, that is thinking of getting LASIK surgery.
Does anyone have the Transport Canada view of this procedure?

Not sure if you have google on the west coast, but it's remarkably quick! I think it took me about 6 seconds, although if you can type fast, I'm sure you can get better results than I did...

Re: LASIK eye surgery
I had both my eyes done last october at Lasik MD in Vancouver. Advanced custom wavefront lasik. I had to wait 2 months before I could fly and have a couple of followup eye exams and submit them to my TC doctor. I am extremely happy with the results. If you are a candidate for this type of surgery, go for it. BTW I was 59 when I had it done
Re: LASIK eye surgery
Wow really? I was in the military at the time and all I had to do was get permission. No follow ups (other than with the doctors who did it which everyone has to do). I find it odd that TC is so uptight about it. Hell they still don't know I had it (didn't know I had to inform them). Fresh medical last month, clean bill of health.duCapo wrote:I had to wait 2 months before I could fly and have a couple of followup eye exams and submit them to my TC doctor.

Yes capt 2016, we have google on the west coast. We also have bathrooms and carpet all the way out to the woods for them.
The reason my friend asked is because what is written in the TC book of words and what they do or expect is sometimes very different out here in the west.
Perhaps you have noted the same discrepancies with TC in the east.

Westcoast, I'm just busting your balls. In my defense, your original question simply asked for TC's view on LASIK, which I found to be readily available. I haven't been on this board that long myself, but every few weeks someone with about 5 previous posts starts a topic to ask a question that could be answered very easily with a modicum of effort on their part. Had you asked for the differences between TC's published view and people's past experiences I would've left it alone, having nothing of value to contribute to the discussion myself.
So moving on, apologies for the sarcasm, and I'll open the floor to useful comments.
And I'd just like to add that I think carpet in bathrooms is gross.

TCCA is a federal governing body that has zero connection to its description.....the word Canada should be deleted and replaced with fiefdoms, each regions ( fiefdom ) rules are based on the whims of the ruler ( Regional Director). The reason my friend asked is because what is written in the TC book of words and what they do or expect is sometimes very different out here in the west.
We out here on the west coast are ruled by one of the worst of the " Rulers " ours is so morally tainted I doubt the Mafia would allow him in their group.
Just so Avcanada is not involved in the above statement...here is who made it.
