That clip has been around for a while. FOX is pretty right wing shock tv - hence I don't give them much credibility. I can see the attempt at humour in it, but unfortunately many average Americans will watch and listen and interpret the context verbatim.

You shouldn't get too excited about it...Tucker Carlson is paid to be provocative. He's an idiot who copied the French TV hosts who used to up their ratings by flaming people!

Sure is hard to have any respect for our neighbours to the south when you see drivel like that. Too bad the voices of reason weren't a bit more convincing in those clips. Someone more articulate would have easily cut those clowns down and revealed them as the idiots they are.

And Carlson's just a rating whore who's since been fired because Jon Stewart called him a dick on his own show and a lot of CNN executives said "You know what? He's right." The guy's smart enough to know more about Canada than he lets on, but his core fans want to hear him insult somebody. It's that simple.

Unfortunatly that kind of comments is becoming more widespread worldwide. I think that their internal problems are the cause of their arrogance towards other countries. It is in their nature of always blaming others for failures. When Canada takes a stand against them, like the Irak invasion, there is immediate backlash on the media, who are feeding on this. What a pity, and what a pile of junk media! I am lucky, because here we are not exposed to that grotesque, immature, uneducated, trivial, media circus that they call news.
In their search for short term profits and ratings they are lowering their standards and are targeting the audiences with the lowest common determinator IQs. What a pity. Even the news are shows, with star anchors and flashy clips. No depth whatsoever! Even BBC world is following that lead. Fortunately Europe is more than Britain. and Euronews is a good source. Even the Russians have an excellent news service that covers the world.
During the Irak invasion I remember seeing about ten times the same clip showing a New Yorker emptying a bottle of french wine in the sewer. This must be good stuff for the ratings. The most disturbing fact about Americans is that if that xenophobic bashing is good for the ratings, it means that people like it and want more.

The parents of a former American football star killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan yesterday accused the Pentagon of propagating a false account of his death to stir up patriotic fervour back home.

Pat Tillman became a national icon last year when it was reported that the sports superstar who had turned down a multi-million-dollar contract to join the army after the terrorist attacks of September 2001 had been killed by enemy fire.

The account of his death on a barren hillside in Afghanistan was like a heroic, boys' comic story. He was said to have been charging up a hill to attack Islamist diehards, bellowing orders to fellow Rangers, when he was mown down in an ambush.

But as with another stirring tale of valour at war - that of Private Jessica Lynch, whose capture in the invasion of Iraq was fantastically embroidered by the authorities - the truth was much more prosaic. Tillman was shot dead by Rangers in his own platoon who mistook him for the enemy. Army investigators deemed it an act of "gross negligence".

His parents, who learned the truth weeks after a nationally televised memorial service, broke their silence yesterday, accusing the Pentagon of telling "outright lies" to his family and the nation.

"All the people in positions of authority went out of their way to script this," his father, Patrick Tillman, a lawyer from San Jose, told the Washington Post. They "interfered with the investigation, they covered it up. I think they thought they could control it, and they realised that their recruiting efforts were going to hell in a hand-basket if the truth about his death got out.''

Tillman's decision to drop his celebrity life in the Arizona Cardinals American football team to join up with his brother was a coup for the army's image and recruitment. But his death - coming as support for the Pentagon's post-September 11 record was falling along with enlistment levels - would have been a public relations disaster.

Soldiers at the scene knew instantly that Tillman was killed by American bullets as he sheltered behind a boulder. Gen John Abizaid, the American overall commander in the region, knew within days. But Tillman's fellow Rangers were told not to talk about it "to prevent rumours".

His mother, Mary, yesterday told the newspaper that the Bush administration capitalised on the false account to counter the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal then unfolding. "I think there's a lot more yet that we don't even know, or they wouldn't still be covering their tails.

"If this is what happens when someone high-profile dies, I can only imagine what happens with everyone else."

If you think America is what you see on CNN or any of the news channels here, you all are retarded. I'm proud to defend this country in which I live in. I had two options, join Canada's military, or the US's. I get paid less here in the US, but I sleep better at night knowing that I'm part of something that is doing something for this world, not just this country. No, I havn't been to Iraq, however I'm suppossed to go in August. I'll take a few pictures, and videos if I can and show you what we are doing over there. Don't beleive everything you see on TV, especially on CNN.

Jessica Lynch story is a perfect example of what not to do in Combat. The News portayed her as a hero, when in fact she fucked up big time and got her fellow soldiers killed. (she wasn't the sole person to blame, her other compatriates messed up too, but they're dead) Most people are dying in Iraq and Afgahnistan because a lack of attention to detail. Tillman's death could have been prevented if his fellow soldiers were paying attention (if that is in fact the case) Had Pvt. Lynch cleaned her rifle in the last month, it would have fired and she could have fended off the damn hodgee's. Her squad will still be here today.
