WestJet emergency landing

Post by longjon »

From the paper this morning

WestJet flight from Van to Edmonton landed at Kelowna after reporting a medical emergency
Firefighters on standby for landing. Plane is being inspected while pax continue on alt flights

I'm confused, did the 737 have a medical problem.

Maybe the sick pax puked/pissed/crapped all over the plane and it required cleaning before being put back into service.

I'm just guessing, but maybe they landed over landing weight to get the medical help.

Westjet Boeing 737 7CT flight WJA660 IFR, enroute from Vancouver (CYVR) to Edmonton (CYEG), declared an emergency due to a suspected fuel leak in the right engine. The affected engine was turned off, aircraft diverted to Kelowna( CYLW). One flight was delayed to allow a runway inspection after WJA660 landed.
