Old 200's from the dessert. No change in the active fleet. Probably to get cash for the recently agreed on 777's.

According to my sources, some of the aircraft will fly again and some will be parted out. All the aircraft are the old 767-200 series and have been sitting in the desert for several years. Air Canada got a very good price for them.

The sale is only the aircraft that were in the desert. None of the 767's that Air Canada currently flies have been sold.

Jet Midwest Group Purchases 17 B767 Aircraft From Air Canada

Commercial aircraft company, Jet Midwest Group, announces the acquisition of 17 complete Boeing 767 aircraft from Air Canada.

“We are excited to have purchased the entire fleet of 767 aircraft from Air Canada and feel it fits well within our commitment to the Boeing wide-body marketplace,” says Jet Midwest Group. “This acquisition will expand our wide-body leasing capabilities, will further diversify our Aftermarket Supplier inventory and will provide opportunities to deliver value to our commercial airline customers worldwide.”

Probably being leased out to some third rate African outfits with fleets of B727/737 -200 smokers who want to get into heavy iron. Lease 2 for flying and buy 2 for parts....
