And that salesman pushes the insult in saying that it is the "most dangerous kind of flying".... Yeah the way he does it trying to save any penny I agree. Plus I hate when a turbine powered A/C fly by with a Continental C-85 noise like they do as well in the other serie involving Era Alaska's CEO stupid daughter. I don't watch both those shows anymore also because of exageration in drama.

The last two episodes were a little better, still a bit too much drama but better. There might be hope for this show yet. What do you guys think of the pilots?

The Navajo 2-green situation was awful familiar. Different cause in my case, but it's interesting to see somebody in the same situation. It amused me a bit that the initial reaction - recycle and curse at it a bit - was pretty much the same.

Saw that in the first 30 seconds I've ever watched it.. Reading through the thread makes it seem like it won't be a regular on the 'must watch' list.

Okay, watched the rest of the episode.. 1000km trip in a Chieftain wouldn't be fun in a strong headwind (didn't see if it had nacelle tanks), but planning it based on 30gph? I'll admit it's been a while, but 35", 2300RPM and 1550°F EGT doesn't strike me as a 30gph fuel burn in that airplane.

Me? I wish, I've always wanted to make a trip like that. I think they are all Americans except for one. I think they made this show for non-pilots. Still better than ice road truckers.

Not just the CP. At the time this was taped he was still a part owner. One would think prior to leaving Yellowknife they would have had the flight plan all figured out. Rather then looking like a foul saying he has been up most of the night trying to figure the last leg out on the day they were doing the last leg. Ya the show is about drama but if this is even close to true then Super Dave really isn't a very smart man. Even if it isn't and he did this for show he really didn't make him self look very smart.
Super dave was skidded a long time ago as CP from Summit. Bad decisions outside of aviation.

Did I just watch 2 "professional" pilots argue over who was "Captain" on a Cirrus SR22?? As in same Class and Categorey as a C172? Captain? ....It reminded me of my PPL days when id argue with another PPL about who was PIC, but even we didnt call ourselves "Captain".

Good show for entertainment value.

All the shots of them struggling with the trim were obvious recreations, as the props were in Feather and the fuel levers were in shutoff... If that were in flight, I think the trim would have been the least of their concerns! I've noticed this done on Flying Wild Alaska too.

I've noticed that too, I imagine they have to do it that way because having a cameraman stick his camera next to the pilots hand while he's flying might be just a little distracting. Also if you go to their website you can see that they use a helicopter for the air to air shots. That's probably why you see the flaps down from time to time, flying slow enough to stay with a helicopter would often require flaps. The flying is interesting but I'd like to see more of what they do on the ground in the interesting places they visit.

This is great. You can't even see their breath and they're talking about losing fingers and toes.

They're talking about losing an engine on final and dude says, "We are not going around." Maybe they should call the show "Dangerous pilots."

They don't need parkas or sleeping bags as a part of their survival gear?

Hmmm...traveling through eastern Russia in the winter in an aircraft they knew had heater issues in the past and they don't bring proper winter gear? They were definitely two very stupid pilots.

The shots with Andrew Bruce from Far North Aviation in Wick were good though, he is truly a 'class act'.

Yes, for sure Andrew is truly one of the best in the business.

And his big hanger looks exactly like it did ten years ago.
