Ramp life
I work on the ramp and I find it really boring and it's starting to suck the enjoyment I had for aviation. But I'm based in calgary. Should I go north and fly right away or stick around and suffer until its my turn to fly. Could be another two years.

Hey Avcanada, long time viewer here. Ummm, I put my hand on the stove-top burner this morning with it set on "high". My problem is, you see, well, I hate to be a complainer, but, well, it hurts a lot, feels like burning. My hand is still on it, and things are really painful. Any advice?
Take thy beak from out my heart and take thy form from off my ramp.

Go North!
If you can start flying NOW, then now is the time to do it, hours are hours dude!

Re: Ramp life
Going North isn't always the answer.. proper planning, research and then being in the right place at the right time or shaking hands with the right person after a ton of networking is what'll get you that first job.
Seems like a troll to me though.. I guess you've caught a few

Bah...ramp life is just fine for those who feel the need to put in their time to demonstrate their worthiness to this professional industry. And if they're not worthy, off to get their instructors rating, that oughta do it!!Changes in Latitudes wrote:Hey Avcanada, long time viewer here. If the current ramp wait looks like it might be 2 years and you have a guaranteed flying job up north then by all means take it. Working the ramp is worth it for the right company so look at the big picture, where you want to be in 5 years and choose the job that will get you there.

Re: Ramp life
What plane would you be put on after the approximate 2 year wait? That would make a difference in my decision.
