AirSprint Fleet Transition
AirSprint is pleased to announce that over the next 24 months we will be moving to an all jet fractional fleet by replacing our 11 Pilatus PC12 aircraft with new Cessna Citation CJ2+ aircraft. Due to this transition, AirSprint is accepting resumes for all pilot positions on our fleet of Pilatus PC12, Citation XLS, and Citation CJ2+ aircraft. Although we intend on filling the vast majority of our Captain positions internally, we have identified a need for a few externally hired direct entry Captains as well. Canadian pilot bases are in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and Edmonton. As always, type ratings are not required although time on type or similar type is beneficial.

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Kudos for posting the schedule and salary scale. You'll get fewer applicants who apply for the sake of applying then drop out because the base, pay or schedule isn't for them. Nice to see companies post the important details we all like to see. Hope you get the right applicants.
Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
PC12 FO starting pay is more than Air Georgians and only 10 grand less a year than Air Canada.

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
We had YOW as a base a bunch of years ago, but everyone 'relocated' to YUL. Some of those pilots still work for AirSprint and drive in to YUL.
Its a good company to work for. As a line pilot I feel 'in the loop' when it comes to the direction the company is going. Management constantly strives to keep the business transparent to all departments. As evident in this thread.

Now that sounds like a great company to work for. Others should take note on how to properly treat and retain pilots.dune wrote:Its a good company to work for. Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
I agree as well. This is an outstanding example of how a company should operate and thus advertises accordingly.

Definitely a refreshing change to see a company up front like this.

Wow...nice to see a company willing to post details. They are not ashamed of their salaries and benefits. And they know a lot of companies can't compete with them. Lots of confidence i would say. Nice.

Do pilots still have to clean/wash the airplanes and hangars? Cos I didn't see that mentioned above.
Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Yep, much like they do at many other operations.Jack Klumpus wrote:Do pilots still have to clean/wash the airplanes and hangars? Cos I didn't see that mentioned above.

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
We ask that our crews tidy the aircraft while away from a base and clean the aircraft on return to base when time allows. For the PC12 aircraft, this means give it a wash. For the jet aircraft, this means wipe down the trouble spots by hand. Both require a commissary restock an vacuum. Most crews seem to complete the return to base cleaning in 20-25 minutes. If pilots have a departure within 12 hours, they are only expected to tidy the aircraft instead of clean it. The more involved aircraft cleaning is completed by others who have detailing as part of their job description. As for the hangar cleaning, I'm not sure where that comes from but it is not asked of our pilots.Jack Klumpus wrote:Do pilots still have to clean/wash the airplanes and hangars? Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Thank you for confirming what I've heard about your company. I respect the fact that you did not lie about it when I brought it up, however, I have no respect for anyone that asks his/her corporate pilots, to clean the airplanes.
Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
I have absolute respect for AS. They have even taken the time to watch this thread to answer questions and provide clarification. Again something a step above the rest. Cudos to AS!

Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
I had applied to them years back with around 14 thousand hours and they were more interested in what kind of University Degree I had rather than my aviation background. Ended up at another company that treated me very well.
Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
I might disagree with your last comment. I might suggest its more about pride in your equipment and customer satisfaction which benefits all.Jack Klumpus wrote:Thank you for confirming what I've heard about your company. There is no requirement to have a degree or diploma for our pilot positions. If an applicant has a degree or diploma, it is looked upon favorably.ettw wrote:I hope that is still not true. Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
I fly an aircraft comparable to, but slightly larger than, a PC-12, and I wash it top to bottom once a week. I don't have any problem doing it, and I certainly don't think pilots are above that type of work. I think the attitude that pilots should be above getting our hands dirty and that we should look down our noses at the rampies who do the manual labour to be rather snobbish. As for a certain company in YYC which makes its pilots wash the customers' cars, that's another issue...
Re: AirSprint Fleet Transition
Even the guys down at Porter groom their aircraft. The captains will come out an pick up garbage from their passengers.
Nothing wrong with cleaning up after yourself. Of course I would prefer to just walk away as well and come back to a well groomed and cleaned aircraft, but I have no problem with cleaning up the plane, part of the duty. I think it is pretty reasonable that if you have a show time approaching within the next 12 hours, you get off the hook a bit too.
Now washing customers cars...that is a problem (and frankly disgusting for the operator to even suggest it)
