Re: Pepall Decision is Out
Air Ontario pilots have lost their law suit against Air Canada pilots hired prior to 1995. Of course they have the right to appeal and I'm sure their lawyers will recomend they do, after all. they, the lawyers. want to milk this for every last dime. Now the big question is ACPA going to go after them for cost of defending themselves in what has been a very expensive 15 year fight or do they let it go, I guess it would depend on the AO pilots and if they continue to pursue this pointless suit, which for all intense and purpose, they have lost.
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
I can't find anything on the internet about the Pepall decision. Any links?

crj_705 - looks like their lawyers did a better job of disseminating timely information than yours did. You lost. Get over it.crj_705 wrote:

Yes, I had a late night last night, but hey, that's the airline business.
Don't really drink, but maybe I should start, I know their will be a lot of ex-AO pilots crying in their beer today in various places. All I can say is your old FO's are becoming 767 Captain's on the next bid. Wrap your head around that one, OUCH!! Could have been you, if you had been more of a leader and less like a sheep.
Don't be mad at MA or RC, they didn't ruin your career potential. YOU DID!
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
Careful boys. Your arbitration isn't over. I wouldn't rub salt in a wound a few days before you may be getting one of your own.
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
Hey Rudder, it's not a question of winning or losing, it's a question of playing the game fairly…something that ACPA will NEVER do!!!rudder wrote:crj_705 - looks like their lawyers did a better job of disseminating timely information than yours did. You lost. Get over it.crj_705 wrote:

Re: Pepall Decision is Out
Please refresh my memory what the pilots of Air Ontario were out for?
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
Still wondering if anyone has a link to the decision.
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
They wanted the Air Canada pilots to advance a merged seniority list during negotiations with Air Canada. The Air Canada pilots said no. Air Canada also said that it wouldn't recognize a merged seniority list between Air Canada mainline and the connectors anyway because Air Canada and it's connectors are separate companies. Some of the Air Ontario pilots were pissed off and sued the Air Canada pilots for $300,000,000 (three hundred million dollars).AutoPilot Off wrote:Please refresh my memory what the pilots of Air Ontario were out for?
In the meantime a process was set up to give the connector pilots the opportunity to move to Air Canada, but at the bottom of the list. Many of the connector pilots took advantage of this opportunity and are now approaching wide body captain status. Those that stayed at Air Ontario and decided to take their chance with the law suit have each paid tens of thousands in legal fees with nothing to show for it. The Air Canada pilots legal fees were paid by ACPA.
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
And now hopefully some of us younger guys (who were not involved whatsoever) can understand how pathetic our entire industry COLLECTIVELY has become. Remember, this degradation hasn't happened overnight....Fast forward almost 20 years letter and you can see why airline pilots in Canada are treated the way they are and you can not but look in the mirror and see the fault lies within all of us.

WRONG!!!!
The Air Canada pilots legal fees were paid out of dues paid by each and every AC pilot!!!
Has anybody ever asked to see the legal bills of this famous association (acpa) for it's legal battles over the years
Re: Pepall Decision is Out
You're right. But then again that's why we have an association. The dues pay for everything (collective grievances, individual grievances, contract negotiations, legal support for individuals, legal support for groups, etc.).Norwegianwood wrote:The Raven wrote:AutoPilot Off wrote:The Air Canada pilots legal fees were paid by ACPA.

Oh, by the way, let's not get into an Age 60 discussion. Leave that for other threads.
